Vancouver, Canada

I just recently got back from Vancouver, Canada, and I wanted to share some photos with you!

When you arrive in the international terminal, you see beautiful artwork relating back to the native peoples from Canada. There was the huge eagle sculpture overhead...
and several waterfalls as you make your way towards Customs. It was so beautiful!
It was cloudy the day I arrived, but the sight of the mountains from the harbor was still wonderful.

There was a Chevron station in the middle of the harbor!
These are totem poles in Stanley Park, a popular tourist attraction.
While exploring the city, I decided to take a little trip to the British Columbia Sports Hall of Fame. I figured I'd see a bunch of hockey stuff, but of course there were lots of memorabilia from the 2010 Winter Olympics. This was probably my favorite stop on the trip.
 Said hockey stuff...
These cute characters were the mascots at the 2010 Winter Olympics. Adorable!
I also made my way to Gastown, which is mainly a shopping area with plenty of stores and restaurants. You can find lots of Vancouver Canucks stuff, and tons of jade jewelry!
Vancouver was (is?) historically known for its old growth forests. This tree's trunk was so big that I could easily fit inside of it!
Unfortunately I don't have anything to give you scale for this photo, but this old tree trunk was HUGE, and then had little baby trees growing out of it!
All the squirrels I saw in Vancouver were black. I wonder what the adaptation is there...Dark fur to absorb heat from the sun when it's cold out?
My last day in Vancouver was sunny and beautiful. I took this picture of the harbor through an arch on yet another walk to Stanley Park (I must have walked five miles a day in there).

I didn't get to see that much of the city, so it's hard to recommend it as a tourist destination. I didn't dislike it by any means, but I would have to book another trip to decide how I really feel.
